Hailing from Brisbane/Byron Bay, Swivelhead have hit the ground running in the Grunge Rock scene. Taking inspiration from bands such as Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, Superheaven and Queens of the Stone Age. Swivelhead have proved to the Australian rock scene they are here to stay, and ready to take the Grunge world by storm, before even releasing their first single. With new fans branding them as “the next Soundgarden,” they bring exuberant amounts of energy to shows, with singer Tyler Coxall showcasing his exceptional voice, unmatched by anyone in Grunge music right now.
Scheduled for release in the front end of 2027. Swivelhead recorded their first EP, produced by Nick Didia, a legend of Grunge music. Nick previously recorded STP, Pearl Jam, Velvet Revolver, Rage Against The Machine and many more. The EP features 5 of the best songs written by the band, showcasing the diversity of Swivelheads sound, ranging from fast hard hitting tracks, to nice melodic ear worms. In support of this release, Swivelhead will be hitting the road playing shows all around Australia.
The band formed at the end of 2025, first jamming covers together and writing a full song in their first ever rehearsal. Swivelhead have since released a demo EP featuring 7 tracks (only available on CD) which has been building hype around the band and allowing a small underground following to latch on to their music. Swivelhead have been touring up and down the coast supporting the likes of Helmet, Headsend and a sold out first ever headline show in Brisbane.
The future of Grunge looks strong, with bands like Return to Dust, Superheaven and Dexter and the Moonrocks making waves. With the trajectory of Swivelhead, they will be put in the same conversion of these bands soon enough, integrating the US and Australian Grunge scene into something the world can’t ignore. We can’t wait to continue writing, and build a worldwide community of listeners, using our music to bring people together!
